We presented MVC the Power of Purchasing Workshop!
What about this topic are you most excited about?
Being able to share information that is so critical to MVC everyday operation.
Why is this topic so important to everyone at MVC?
To be able to purchase effectively and efficiently, it is important to understand and master the art of Purchasing. What we try to convey in this workshop is an understanding of the Purchasing Cycle and how each phase in the cycle interrelate. By understanding the step-by-step phases involved, this helps to ensure that we are able to achieve our bottom line, serving our students and community.
What is a common misconception about this topic?
That making a purchase is simple so why does the Business Office over complicate it by throwing obstacles at every turn.
What is one tip you would give to anyone delivering a campus presentation?
Prepare. It has been some time since a Purchasing Workshop has taken place at MVC. I will have been part of the Purchasing Team for just about a year now, yet every day is a new and exciting learning experience so be prepared and excited to share your know how. It took quite a bit to prepare and to ensure that we covered enough of the basics to help everyone taking this workshop have the know how to maneuver through the steps of Purchasing with Confidence.
